Being a manufacturing company, Tip Top is aware of its huge demand for electricity to run their machines. By installing the solar PV system, Tip Top will be able to lock in their electricity prices and help them hedge against electricity inflation.
Tip Top is a sugar and confectionery product manufacturing company in Malaysia. Due to high demand from local and oversea market, their factories are now capable of producing tonnes of products per day.
In 2016, they invested in a 65 kWp solar PV system under Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) in which they are expected to receive approximately RM 65,000.00 annually by selling renewable energy to the utility grid.
The solar system not only will help Tip Top make a profit over 21 years, but also will help the Earth reduce at least 42 tonnes of carbon dioxide emission annually. At the end of FiT program, Tip Top can use the solar-generated electricity for their self-consumption so as to reduce their monthly electricity bill.
